Progress Reports

At each quarter between semesters, teachers must send progress reports to their students and parents.

Teachers should make students aware of their current grades and progress at their weekly meetings. When progress notices come out, student's grades should come as no surprise.

When progress reports are due, please use that week to create progress reports with your students in your 1:1s.  This helps to:

  • Show transparency.  Student will know exactly what's missing and why they're getting the grade they are
  • Start conversations about goal setting and how student's decisions (both wise and unwise) make an impact on their achievement.
  • Allows student to have a voice, ask questions, and understand why

To guide your discussions with students, it's helpful to use this reflection resource: Progress Report Reflection

To create a progress report, watch the following video

To determine the letter grade equivalent, please base your grade according to College Board Guidelines.

NOTE:

For students who have skipped critical assignments that make the progress report grade inaccurate, do one of the following:

  • Note in comments the grade reflects work completed and submitted, but the student is significantly behind and/or an assignment is missing
  • Calculate grade by putting zeros for work assigned and skipped
