There are lots of reasons why California students and families love Method. Here are six of our favorites:
We all learn better by doing. Method is true hands-on learning, with project based learning, robotics, and tinkering in The Foundry. To name a few...
It's not just hands-on - it's fully experiential too. Students at Method are immersed in real world learning experiences that reinforce concepts and core curriculum.
Students at Method don't get lost in the crowd. Our teachers know their students, their strengths, their struggles...and they work with that info to build a customized plan for each student, with constant feedback and interaction.
All students who attend via the Synergy track spend weekly time on ongoing work in The Colony, Method's service learning experience. Students research, collaborate, and practice leadership, all through discovering ways to serve others in need.
All students who attend via the Synergy track spend an hour a day in The Foundry working in robotics, coding, and technology. Students who are caught up or ahead in their online schoolwork? They spend even more time there if they choose.
Method is a different public school experience, with small classes, hands-on learning (like robotics and character ed), and individual attention. We serve students throughout So. California (all SoCal counties) and as a public charter school, it's always tuition-free. Method has learning centers in Arcadia, Murrieta, and El Cajon (Dehesa).
All Method schools are WASC accredited, and for those in grades 9-12 we also feature comprehensive UC a-g and NCAA approved course catalogs. No other independent study program in California can say this.
The Synergy track is our on-site track that features hands-on projects and experiential learning, customized online curriculum, and small group instruction in our Targeted Direct Instruction(TDI) sessions. Students in grades 3-12 can attend up to 5 days a week in this track.
It can be difficult to manage all that goes into providing a truly innovative and rigorous home school experience for your child. Method is here to help. Method, a tuition-free public charter school, offers Smart School, a home school track designed to meet the needs of independent learners in Southern California. We think Smart School by Method is SoCal's most complete home school option.
High School students at Method (grades 9-12) can choose either the Synergy track, or Smart School. Beginning the 2017-18 academic school year, Method Schools will be adding new options to the curriculum for Method High School students attending the Synergy track. New options include World Languages, Career Preparation and Extra Curricular Activies. Students leave Method High with a diploma highly regarded by colleges and universities. Also, beginning in 2017-18, students will be able to attend Method High up to 5 days per week in a fully-immersive experiential learning option that prepares them for college and career.
Students throughout Southern California enroll in Method Summer School, which allows them to catch up on credits or work ahead over the summer, returning to their regular high school in time for school to start. Method is the only option in California that features fully accredited WASC, UC a-g, NCAA approved online courses. And like all Method tracks, it's always tuition-free. In 2017, Method will serve students from over 100 SoCal high schools.
