“Cooper has mastered the organization and communication skills which are needed for a successful online independent study experience. Cooper has phone alarms scheduled on his phone for his required Zoom classes, so he will join his classes on time. Cooper logs into SmartFox every day to work on his assignments. Cooper reads and replies to his emails daily, and emails his homeroom teacher when he has questions.”

Cooper says, “When I need to get my work done, I'll get my work done. When I need to be in class, I'll be in class on time. To be successful at Method Schools, each day, students need to attend and participate in their required Zoom classes and login to SmartFox to work on their lessons and assignments.”

Cooper’s Learning Coach suggests, “Be prepared to have lots of patience with your child. We have been able to teach Cooper the responsibility of being on time to his online classes. We have found with Cooper, bringing a one on one tutor in three times a week has been very helpful.”

“Cooper has shown remarkable resilience and dedication during his time at DMSA. After facing a challenging injury as a baseball player, he stayed focused on his academics, maintaining straight A’s throughout. He set a consistent schedule, logged in daily, asked for help when needed, and turned in assignments on time. Cooper balanced recovery, athletics, and academics with discipline and determination, staying on pace and mastering all standards. His success is a testament to his strong work ethic and ability to overcome obstacles.”

What it takes to be successful at Method Schools: “Being a successful student-athlete at DMSA means showing up with the same grit in the classroom as you do on the field...staying disciplined, managing your time, and never being afraid to ask for help when you need it.”

“At DMSA, Niko transformed from a passionate soccer player into a focused, disciplined student-athlete. He balanced rigorous training with his academic courses by setting a daily schedule, checking in to receive support, and consistently staying on pace. With guidance from coaches like Coach Mo and support from his teachers and family, Niko learned the value of hard work, accountability, and self-motivation. His growth mindset and dedication have prepared him for success both on the field and in life. Niko exemplifies what it means to rise to the challenge while being a student athlete here at Dehesa Method Sports Academy.”

Niko says, “Before I came to DMSA, I was just a kid who loved playing soccer. But since joining, I’ve learned how to actually train like a serious player…Coach Mo taught me it’s about doing the small things right at full effort, even when no one’s watching…The curriculum is challenging, and you really have to learn how to manage your time. It feels like what I imagine college will be like being accountable for your own assignments and grades. I was lucky to have supportive teachers like Mrs. James and Mrs. Robinson who were super helpful. My parents were a huge help too. They set high standards for me & my brother when it comes to grades and effort. DMSA has helped me grow on and off the field, and I feel more confident about my future because of everything I learned here.”

Niko’s Learning Coach says, “As parents, it’s been incredible to witness Niko’s growth since joining DMSA. We saw his passion evolve into discipline, focus, and real purpose both academically and on the field. The level of training he received under Coach Mo and the DMSA staff was unlike anything we’ve seen before, we are firm believers of their process. It pushed him to take himself seriously as a young athlete and instilled habits that will serve him far beyond soccer. Academically, the program challenged him in all the right ways. It wasn’t always easy as it demanded responsibility, time management, and self-motivation. We’re proud of the young man he’s becoming, and we credit DMSA for playing such a meaningful role in that transformation. For families with kids who are truly dedicated to their sport, we can’t recommend DMSA enough! DMSA is a place where hard work and potential are truly nurtured.”

What it takes to be successful at Method: “Success at DMSA takes discipline, self-motivation, and the ability to manage your time like a professional. Students who thrive here take ownership of their goals, both on the field and in the classroom.”

"I believe that what is needed to be successful at Method Schools is to be curious and be willing to meet your curiosity with hard work. This is what motivated me to enroll in Method Schools, take on challenging assignments, and earn good grades. It is also how I got to be accepted at 2 universities in the first 2 weeks of my senior year."

Angie's Learning Coach says, "Become your child’s #1 fan. Encourage without imposing. Create an environment of stability, balancing flexibility with structure. The student who is unconditionally supported and never heavily judged, will have room to spread their wings and stay curious. As a Learning Coach, I feel that curiosity is what helps make students successful."

Angie's teacher, Mr. Fink, attributes part of Angie's success to her commitment to logging in to work every day and joining her weekly class sessions, recognizing that, "No matter what your dreams may be, they all begin with small goals that build toward greater accomplishments."
