Method Schools Far Outpace Statewide Growth in 2025 California Dashboard Results

Data-Informed Instruction Leads to Dramatic Gains Across Both Charters

The 2025 California School Dashboard results showcase exceptional academic growth across Method Schools and Method Schools LA. Both charters significantly outperformed statewide averages in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, validating Method’s personalized, data-driven instructional approach.

Across the state, most indicators showed modest single-digit improvements, yet Method’s results demonstrate growth up to ten times greater than California overall.

Method Schools LA: Double Green and Unprecedented Gains

Our Method Schools LA charter delivered some of the most striking results in the region, earning Green performance levels in both ELA and Mathematics.

These results highlight extraordinary academic acceleration. In mathematics alone, Method Schools LA improved nearly ten times faster than the state average, advancing from deep in the Yellow range to strong Green performance in just one year.

Such gains underscore the school’s precision in instructional pacing, personalized interventions, and ongoing analysis of student progress data. Teachers at Method LA leveraged regular assessment cycles a focus on constant student/teacher check-ins and to make real-time instructional adjustments—a hallmark of the Method model.

Method Schools: Steady Improvement and Major Math Acceleration

The original Method Schools charter based out of San Diego county also made notable progress, outperforming California’s overall growth trend:

Math results again stand out as a major bright spot. With a 40.9-point increase, Method Schools’ rate of improvement was roughly eight times higher than the statewide gain. This rapid growth suggests that the school’s strategic focus on diagnostic assessments and individualized math pathways is paying measurable dividends. Not to mention seeking out the best and brightest teachers.

Equity Gains Across All Subgroups

Both charters’ equity reports show no student groups in the Red or Orange categories, a rare distinction on the state Dashboard.

At Method Schools LA, all subgroups now perform in the Yellow range or better, which is clear evidence of equitable progress across our diverse Southern California learning populations.

This balance reflects consistent support systems, academic interventions, and progress monitoring that ensure growth is both broad-based and inclusive.

Outpacing the State Through Purposeful Design

While California’s statewide data reflects incremental recovery from pandemic learning loss, Method’s results show what’s possible through a data-informed, mission-driven model.

These outcomes stem from:

  • Instructional precision: Frequent assessment cycles that align learning targets with mastery outcomes.

  • Curricular innovation: Purpose-built customized online content through SmartFox®

  • Professional growth: Ongoing teacher development centered on personalized pacing and progress tracking.

Together, these systems create a feedback loop that allows Method educators to act quickly and intentionally—closing skill gaps faster than traditional settings.

Graduation Rates Surge While Absenteeism Declines

In addition to outstanding academic growth, both Method Schools and Method Schools LA made substantial progress on key engagement indicators, including graduation rate and chronic absenteeism, which are two of the state’s most critical metrics for long-term student success.

grad rates and absenteeism CAASP 2025 both Method charters

Method Schools achieved a Green performance level in both measures, with an 81.6% graduation rate and 8.3% chronic absenteeism. The graduation rate rose 12.8 percentage points, nearly doubling the state’s overall rate of improvement, while chronic absenteeism declined by 1.2 percentage points, signaling increased student connection and program engagement. These results highlight the effectiveness of Method’s flexible scheduling, personalized academic planning, and targeted support systems for students approaching graduation.

Method Schools LA also saw notable gains, earning Yellow ratings but improving sharply in both areas. The school’s graduation rate climbed to 77.2%, an 8.7-point increase, while chronic absenteeism fell by 1.1 percentage points to 16.3%. Both shifts exceeded the state’s rate of change, illustrating that LA’s comprehensive support model—pairing online instruction with live mentorship—continues to drive higher persistence and completion rates among diverse learners.

These improvements across engagement indicators complement the academic growth shown in ELA and Mathematics, confirming that Method’s holistic approach—balancing academic rigor with social-emotional and logistical support—creates an environment where students not only perform but also stay connected and complete their educational goals.

Looking Forward: Sustaining Excellence

With 2025 results firmly positioning both charters well above the state’s trajectory of growth, Method Schools continues to set a high bar for independent study programs across California.

The focus now turns to sustaining this progress...maintaining Green performance levels at Method Schools LA while pushing Method Schools toward similar benchmarks in 2026. And for the first time, our new Method Summit Academy charter will participate CAASP testing.

This year’s outcomes confirm that when data, design, and dedication intersect, exceptional growth is achievable for every student.
